Additional Fetching Problem

Aside from the open problem I already reported regarding unread messages that 
remain stuck in my INBOX with nnimap refusing to read them, I have another
fetching problem.  In one of my groups, INBOX/Principia/Cron, I filter
messages generated by my two nightly cron jobs.  The two messages have the
exact same subject.  After the split, nnimap shows that I have two messages
waiting in my folder.  Ever since upgrading to 0.8x, I can never read the
first message since nnimap insists the message has been cancelled.  I have to
go into MS Outlook to see the message.  BTW, the error is the same as I get
when I try to read the leftover messages in my INBOX as per my first bug
report.
