Gnus doesn't do MDN. When/if it does, I'm sure it will support the
$MDNSent flag in IMAP too.

Um, no, I think no reciepts are sent, other than what your MUA sends
(Return-Receipt-To:) and that's not under Gnus/nnimap's control
anyway.
