o simultaneous multiple mailbox browsing (not sure if this would work under
  gnus), but used this a lot under roam (Solstice Internet Mail Client)
o bug fixes in cacheing (articles don't get deleted if cached)  would work
  allow better performance on slow links
o choice of fast/slow link mode
o ssh support
