Well ... Looking through the imapd source the only info I can get is
that it is from the IMAP 4.1 toolkit. Author seems to be Mark
Crispin. Hope this is enough for you. Maybe I should add that imapd
runs on a Unix machine. ;-)

Huh... I can only describe what I saw. After connecting and getting a
good looking *Group* buffer I couldn't get any further because when I
selected an nnnimap group I would get the error immediately. So I'd
say I got it all the time. After the patch was applied I could read
the articles again and I haven't seen the problem since.
