Yes. A user would have to write "foo%20bar" when he meant "foo bar"
though, not very intuitive, but perhaps better than not being able to
see the group at all.
Listing groups in Gnus uses space as a delimiter. Changing it to use
\t instead seem to work (but of course breaks every other backend in
existance). Let's see what else there is...
