This is not a direct answer to your question, but I'd be interested in learning why you want to use VM and not message mode. Lars has intended message mode to be a replacement for all other mail composition modes. Though that hasn't happened, maybe it will happen if you tell Lars about any missing features you think should be included in message mode. kai -- I like BOTH kinds of music.
