nnimap definitely seems to be getting the number of unread messages
wrong, by the way.

I also still get the 'this shouldn't happen' stuff. It appears to be a
timeout or something like that.

Of Imail? I think it's one of the 3 versions. I told support they
should upgrade to 4.  I'm using ..43 of Gnus, 20.3.1 of Emacs, ..31 of
nnimap.
